You walk Barkly west from the station toward Seddon until the numbers get high. 333 is the corner fascia. 578 is West Footscray Wines in 3012, a different postcode, a different night. You want the 1868 glass that Time Out already called restaurant, bar and hotel after the 2013 refurb. Inside it is a warm pub: beers, wines, a dining room that still sells steak and parma, a screen Beat, 25 September 2024, already told you to book if the footy view mattered. House about names Head Chef Harry. English is the working language. This is not Matsu at 275 and it is not Thyme at 227.

You came because a western-end Barkly night still wants a pub that feeds itself, and because a suitcase on Monday is not the same as a dinner. Ras Dashen at 247 is injera, closed Monday and Tuesday. Thyme is closed Monday and Tuesday. Station Hotel is 59 Napier, French steak, a different street. Match-day Barkly from Whitten Oval changes this end. Book if the group is a function. Walk in for a pint if the room has it.
What should you order at Plough Hotel?
You should order a pub plate if dinner was the job, then a house beer if you wanted the room Beat already called the local's local.
Thursday is parma night on the house home: classic and loaded, eggplant if you skipped the chicken. Friday is pizza, gluten-free base extra $5, vegan cheese on the old Time Out tip. Tuesday to Friday lunch still prints Caesar, a superfood bowl, pub classics. Kitchen hours are not the pub hours. Lunch and dinner sittings, snacks between 3pm and 5pm. If you wanted a wine set, book Thyme at 227, also dark Monday. A Monday Barkly dinner on this block is thin. The rooms upstairs do not invent a kitchen.
Stay long enough to eat the plate here. A sealed parma walking toward Seddon is how you waste a bistro. Book if the footy screen or the private room mattered. A suitcase check-in on Monday is the leftover sitting when the taps are dark. Do not treat the 11 rooms as a hostel dorm. They are hotel rooms with doors that close.

You do not invent a 3012 suburb because the house said Middle.
If you wanted Station Hotel steaks, that is 59 Napier, a civic-strip walk from Footscray station, not this western Barkly pin. If you wanted wine in 3012, 578 is West Footscray Wines. If you wanted 227, keep walking east. This door is 333. The rooms upstairs are not a reason to treat the street as a hostel strip.
