What is Misfits known for?
Misfits is known as the Chambers gig room: a narrow upstairs club that wanted a stage, then billed its own send-off.
You walk from Footscray station toward the plaza, then Chambers. 30 is the upstairs bar. 32 is Coco Bananas, records and coffee, a neighbour, not this door. You want the room Broadsheet photographed in sandy tones, exposed brick, warehouse windows, a raised stage, a DJ booth, Reza Hasni tapestries, a Drez mural on the courtyard. Mixmag, 15 April 2024, added leather stools, trailing plants, a sunny terrace, Poon as music director. That is the room they built. It is not a promise the door is lit tonight.
Bell came from Ferdydurke and Whitehart. Hahipene from Section 8 and Comet Beverages. Poon from The Operatives. Opening night, 15 March 2024, Beat named The Volard Project, Jnett, Taijae, Dijok, Palazzo. Mixmag said Smino and Soulection had already played in the first month. Mato later named a Maria Audio system and a diet of hip-hop, soul, reggae, drum and bass, jungle, dancehall, drag, film, fundraisers. You came because a Chambers night still wants a bill, and because 32 will not play one. Baby Snakes closed December 2023. This directory lists Misfits only. Hotel Westwood at 28 Napier is Broadsheet permanently closed. Do not send a gig there. Mr West at 106 is the other mall pour, closed Monday. Back Alley Sally's is Level 1, 4 Yewers, a different upstairs. Slice Shop at 101A is the pizza walk if anyone is still pouring at 30.
What should you order at Misfits?
You should not order a live round at 30 Chambers until Instagram and the glass agree.
When it traded: Marionette, Deeds, 3 Ravens if Broadsheet's first list still held. Bell said every cocktail would carry a homemade shrub or infusion. Cherry Ripe Boulevardier with coconut fat-washed Starward. Pandan Mai Tai with Havana rum and pandan orgeat. Mixmag added longan and salted dried plum. Good Food, updated 27 October 2025, photographed a grape gimlet, a twisted Negroni, a sake martini, a spicy margarita. Treat that as archive. Menus move. There is no 2026 kitchen we can cite.
Slice Shop at 101A Nicholson is the pizza walk Broadsheet, Concrete Playground and Good Food all named, closed Monday. Fold the slice. Walk it upstairs only if the door is open. If you wanted a wine set, book Thyme. If you wanted a 1am maze, Josephine. If you wanted Franco Cozzo scale, Moon Dog. This room was built for a bill, not a tasting menu. A leftover house hours widget is not a Saturday ticket.
Stay long enough to read the glass. If it is dark, you already have the listing. A sealed cocktail walking to the plaza is not a sitting this slug can sell. Functions still sit on the house page. A function form is not a walk-in. Do not invent a residency from a 2024 launch flyer.

Payne recorded a September close. Mato has no upcoming nights after Slamtidote on 19 September. Good Food still prints Thursday to midnight and Sunday to 10pm. Concrete Playground printed Sunday from 3pm. Broadsheet directory still flashes Sunday 3pm-11pm from April 2024. Opening-week cards still include Monday 5pm-11pm. We put that fight in the hours note. The leftover Monday is how a night dies at 30. Do not trust it.
Walk-in only if the glass is lit. Tickets for named nights sat on promoter pages. Last trains matter more than a 1am close. Chambers is not the lit spine home. Do not send a friend because the house widget still loads.
How do you get to Misfits in Footscray?
You get to Misfits by walking from Footscray station toward the plaza, then Chambers to 30, an upstairs bar off the mall, not Coco Bananas at 32 and not Westwood on Napier.
Read 30. 32 is vinyl and coffee. Confirm you wanted the upstairs glass. Albert Street is the plaza park. Irving is the market deck and it dies before last drinks. After dark, leave Chambers for Barkly or Hopkins before you call the car. The mall is the shortcut the safety guide already skips. You do not treat the laneway as the ride pin.
Slice Shop is 101A on the mall. Mr West is 106. Hail Lilith is 40A Leeds in Maddern Square, vegan bar, a different door. Back Alley Sally's is Yewers, river side. You are off Nicholson, not on Barkly. If the door is dark, you already walked.
