Littlefoot is known as the Barkly kitchen bar: front stools, back booths, a courtyard, a beer garden, Italian-fusion plates until 9:30, DJs after the pass dies.
You walk Barkly from the station toward Seddon. 223 is the kitchen fascia. 227 is Bar Thyme, wine, closed Monday and Tuesday with this door. You want the room that feeds itself. Inside it is a neighbourhood bar that still wants you to sit. House about, fetched 2026-09-21, dates the glass to 2015: two locals, few after-dark rooms, Littlefoot meaning Little Footscray. Love Your West printed the same origin, a former pizza and pasta shop, Liana a designer, Stuart still naming gnocchi and an espresso martini built on Addis Cafe coffee from Nicholson. That is the sitting. It is not Josephine's maze at 295 and it is not a late club.

Monday and Tuesday this stretch of Barkly is thin: Thyme dark, Littlefoot dark, Ras Dashen at 247 dark. Josephine at 295 still runs daily from 1pm. That is the leftover pint. You came for a kitchen that outlasts a wine flight and a garden that is not Thyme's. The beer garden opens onto the rear car park when the front stools are gone. Ask for the portable ramp if the courtyard step is the problem. If you wanted injera, walk 247 and check closed days. If you wanted a wine set, book 227.
What should you order at Littlefoot?
You should order a kitchen plate before 9:30 if that is why you booked, then a cocktail once the garden still has a job.
Stuart's own pairing on Love Your West was pillowy gnocchi and the espresso martini. That is a start, not a 2026 guarantee. House about still talks smaller plates for sharing and more substantial dishes for dinner. Bookings for dinner are welcome on that page. If the 2016 board is what you remember, ask whether jackfruit banh-minis and injera pinwheels still exist. Do not perform surprise if the card has moved to pasta. Sunday specials have run pasta at $20 and mulled wine at $10 on recent weeks. Ask.
Cocktails are handmade on the house line. Six craft taps. A small wine list. Non-alcoholic options exist. After 9:30 you are drinking. The courtyard and beer-garden marquee become smoking-only once the kitchen closes. Disco lights in the front bar when DJs start, usually after 9. Sound is louder then, not a yell-over-it club. If you wanted a wine set with no garden kitchen, book Thyme. If you wanted a Banh Mi Martini, that drink lives at Second Hand Dealer, 297. If you wanted injera, Ras Dashen is 247.
Stay long enough to taste the plate on its own terms. Eat it here. A sealed pasta walking to Hopkins is how gnocchi becomes homework. Saturday starts at 3pm. You get to Littlefoot by walking from Footscray station along Barkly to 223, a 3011 kitchen bar, not Thyme at 227 and not Josephine at 295.
Read 223. Thyme is four doors. Ras Dashen is 247. Ollie's Deli is back on its own Barkly counter. House find-us still points at a car park on the corner of French and Paisley behind the building. Barkly meters fill. Irving is the market, the wrong job unless you were already buying herbs. You do not need West Footscray station.
After dark, stay on Barkly or Hopkins. The mall is not the shortcut home. After 1am Friday or Saturday, last trains beat a second garden. Rideshare pin on Barkly. Do not dump a car on Paisley because the map shaved a minute.
