What is AMES Australia Footscray known for?
AMES Australia Footscray is known as the Albert lobby: a logo on the glass, a funded English class, a settlement desk that is not the free migrant English program people still name AMEP.
You walk from Footscray station toward the plaza, not toward Barkly 289, to 37 Albert. The building still shares ground floor with Emdads Pharmacy. This is not AMEP. AMES as an organisation still names SEE on its national study pages. In this suburb the SEE classroom this directory pins is Navitas at VU Nicholson Building D. Do not treat an AMES logo as a SEE enrolment. VU EAL is another campus again, Nicholson D411 on leftover cards. Three English names. Three doors. Kindness is not an enrolment rule. The logo on Albert is not AMEP.
You came because a letter said AMES, or because a friend needed English without a VU letter, and because a parent who walked to 289 Barkly in 2026 is how a morning dies. The centre moved from 289 Barkly to 37 Albert on 3 July 2023. Stay on Albert. The plaza deck is the tell. A Centrelink queue on Moore is not this intake. Employment at Metro West Office 2, Level 1, Albert and Paisley, is a different appointment on the same block. The lobby will take a Skills First question. It will not stamp a Medicare card. It will not enrol you in AMEP because the sign says AMES.
What should you bring to AMES Australia Footscray?
You should bring visa grant, passport, concession evidence if you have it, then the program name you confirmed on 13 26 37.

Employment at Metro West Office 2 prints 9am to 5pm on the employment location page. That is not the 37 Albert classroom clock. Read the appointment letter. Mixing those two Albert-side doors wastes a morning. A 5:10pm weekday walk-in is already too late on the printed card.
The old card already said weekdays. The centre page now prints 8:30am-5pm. Still call before you take time off work. After hours this desk is closed. Do not invent a Saturday class because the plaza is open.

You get to AMES Australia Footscray by walking from Footscray station to Albert Street, 37, plaza-side, an AMES lobby, not 289 Barkly and not Moore Street.
Plaza parking is the Albert Street deck. Fitzroys copy has mentioned onsite parks at this building. Confirm on the day. Match AMES on the glass. Emdads is ground floor in the same stack. 289 Barkly is the old address. Do not send a 2026 search there.
If you wanted SEE, VU Nicholson Building D. If you wanted Centrelink, 75 Moore. If you wanted employment AMES, Metro West Office 2, Level 1, Albert and Paisley. If you wanted a neighbourhood house, Vipont or 539 Barkly, 3012. This listing is 37 Albert only. A 406 that dumps you at VU Park is the hospital edge, a different job. Walk Albert if the class is the job. Walk Moore if the payment is the job. Do not mash them because both say Footscray. The plaza GP will not enrol you. The library will not stamp a visa letter as if it were AMES.
